He simply relies upon his well-honed skills and experience when terminating other people for fun and profit. Known Powers: (none) Limitations / Enhancements: (none) Equipment: Colt M1911A1: the sidearm Enrique carries in case the use of his Dragunov is impractical, he can fire one round from it to inflict Typical (6) Shooting damage, or a semi-automatic burst of rounds to inflict Good (10) Shooting damage in a single deadly assault. Enhancing the utility and effectiveness of his Colt, Enrique makes use of a Picatinny Rail add-on for the weapon. His in particular carries a dual flashlight and laser targeting beam emitter, adding a +1 CS to hit while in use, and letting him see his quarry in dark conditions. Dragunov Sniper Rifle: Enrique's trademark murder implement, the Dragunov is a marvel of Soviet engineering. It can fire one round to inflict Good (10) Shooting damage, or a burst of such as supressing fire, though multiple hits are a rarity in this firing mode. The Dragunov has an effective firing range of 880 yards, or 20 areas, assuming the use of an attached telescopic sight. Enrique also attaches a bayonet to his Draguov, which allows him to inflict Edged Attack damage with it should his quarry drift too close to him. Smartphones: Enrique has numerous smartphones at the ready. One is his 'business' phone, while the others are burner phones he maintains until it's time to, well, burn them. These items can transceive radio signals with Poor (4) ability (maximum range of five miles). Spike-knuckled Trench Knives: should his many and various firearms fail him, Enrique has two trench knives from World War I on him at all times, with which he can inflict Edged Attack damage. He can do this with the blades or their trademark spiked knuckles. Quirks: Dulled Sense / Hearing: having had a love of things that go bang his entire life has cost Enrique some of his hearing. Unserious about hearing protection over the years, Enrique resolves Intuition ACTION rolls based on hearing with a -2 CS penalty. Likability: it's hard to discern just what it is about him, but Enrique easily gets on others' good side. As long as they're not actively hostile, folks tend to react to him at one step higher than normal, or at his Popularity +2 CS if they're already friendly. Talents: Crime: having lived a life of crime for over a decade, Enrique may add a +1 CS to ACTION rolls required while keeping an eye out for the police, picking a lock, disguising himself as another person, or even appraising the 'street value' of goods he has stolen. Guns 2: with his lifelong love of exposive reports driving him, Enrique has extensive experience in the use of most modern firearms. He has the ability to fire most standard, semi-automatic, or fully automatic rifles or pistols as if his Agility was +2 CS in rank. Languages / English, German, and Spanish: having traveled far and wide during his enlistment, Enrique has mastered several languages in addition to English. He can read, write, and speak in German and Spanish as if they were his native tongue. Martial Arts types A, B, and E: should he face a foe unarmed, Enrique is rarely at a loss. He receives a +1 CS to hit and a +1 initiative modifier when fighting unarmed, and may inflict Slam or Stun results regardless of his foes' comparative Strength or Endurance. Military / United States: though he doesn't reveal what he did while in the armed forces, Enrique learned many of his combat skills during his enlistment. His time in the Army has given Enrique numerous martial contacts, though few of them acknowledge him these days. Contacts: A highly experienced assassin with an Army background, Enrique has numerous contacts in both criminal and military circles, though most of the latter have disavowed him due to his occupation. He also has a highly effective criminal attorney, the so-called Scofflawyer, on retainer. Costume: When he's on the job, as it were, Enrique generally wears the same outfit. It primarily consists of black slacks, a black leather belt, black leather running shoes, a white tank top under a black leather trench coat, black aviator sunglasses, and a black baseball cap. Personality: Though seemingly mellow and easy going on the surface, Enrique is highly driven. He strives to be the best there is at what he does, even if what he does is monstrously unethical. It pays the bills, however, and he's very good at killing, so Enrique sticks with it. Deep down, however, Enrique is riddled with anxiety. Constantly second-guessing minor encounters and choices he makes over the course of a day, Enrique is tormented by the endless noise inside his own head. He'd medicate, but worries that would hamper his occupational success. Other Distinguishing Characteristics: Enrique has a beefy frame, the result of years of hard work instead of bodybuilding. Though it is usually covered he has a large tattoo on his chest that is a 'colorful metaphor' in Spanish. Story: Enrique had a seemingly normal upbringing in a particularly quiet suburb. When he demonstrated an intense love of explosions whenever he was exposed to fireworks, his parents tried to channel that into something constructive, and enrolled him in a youth shooting program. Holding explosive power in his hands, Enrique threw himself at the hobby his parents chose for him. Though he didn't use it for hunting or for sport, Enrique nonetheless learned to respect the power of fire in all its many forms. What's more, he learned how to harness it. Finding ammunition to be dreadfully expensive, however, Enrique came to the conclusion that the best way to indulge his love was to join the Army. Enlisting as soon as he graduated from high school, Enrique excelled in the Army, having a leg up on many of his fellow recruits. Serving with distinction for years, Enrique was stationed all over the world, participating in several armed conflicts against his nation's many foes. When a minor injury prompted him to be mustered out of the military, Enrique found he wasn't prepared for a 'normal' life. For a time, Enrique found gainful employment as a mercenary, cycling through several large private security firms. Chafing under corporate leadership, however, Enrique ultimately struck out on his own. With his experience, however, ordinary mercenary work wasn't his strong suit. To this end, Enrique set himself up as a freelance problem solver, though the vast majority of problems he solved were other people. Specializing in the elimination of bothersome individuals around the world, Enrique has become somewhat infamous as the deadly Discarder. Enrique generally doesn't perform this work in his home land, instead dealing with the grit in others' plans abroad. He occasionally breaks this rule when his own government comes calling, though, when it needs him to discard troublesome individuals they can't eliminate above board.
